Bridge Day is an anual festival taking place on the New River Gorge Bridge in West Virginia. During this one day event, the bridge is closed to traffic and people are allowed to BASE jump off of it. It is held on the third Saturday in October, which in 2003 came to be the 18th. The third week in October was chosen to correspond to the maximum fall foliage on the surrounding hills.
