While looking through the road atlas after returning from Marcy, I noticed that New Jersey's high point is right off the highway. This is the lowest high point to date. It was such a stark contrast from Marcy. There we were battling high winds, freezing rain and icy trail, but all that was required here was a short drive through the High Point state park. The actual monument was closed for reconstruction at this time.
